Capt’n Jean-Louis Brunelle
I am a retired airline pilot. I have a family: my wife, and two boys. I have lived in Winnipeg for more than thirty years.

I started out many years ago engaged in a few Mechanical Engineering jobs after graduating from Ryerson in Toronto. These were as a shift supervisor at Dixie Canada (remember Dixie cups?), as a production engineer for a precision optics firm (Leica cameras), and finally, as a plant manager for a refrigeration products manufacturer, W.C. Woods. By then I had acquired my Commercial Pilot’s license on the side, so when I moved to Winnipeg, I decided to start flying for a living. I was a flight instructor for a couple of years before flying commercially throughout the province and into the Arctic for a Winnipeg airline, CALM Air Ltd. Since then, I have flown for Air Canada, where I was a Captain on the Airbus. I was flying for more than 30 years, and recently retired from that profession.
All the while, I have been doing renovations, maintenance, and repairs in my spare time. I have been doing this since I was a kid, really, when I renovated and repaired cottages with my brother, who went on to become a carpenter.
I am simply wanting to carry on doing work that I have been doing for myself and for others on the side, for over forty years. My goal in retirement is simply to stay busy, to provide a service to those in need, or who cannot do these tasks for or by themselves. I pledge to provide honest, simple, straightforward, uncomplicated, reliable, good quality service and workmanship for my clients. And in return I would appreciate and expect the same honesty and straightforwardness in our dealings with each other.
I am keenly aware that some folks are unable to do some of these jobs for themselves (either because of life busyness, not having the skills and/or tools, being elderly, or for many other reasons). Many of these tasks are necessary for day to day life in maintaining the environment that we live in and use every day. When we live, things wear out, break, get weathered, and need service, repairing or replacing in order to carry on. I know that it is often difficult to find someone who will do this work simply, honestly, and for a reasonable price. I have always strived to do things thoroughly, precisely, and correctly (no short cuts). I do not do, or recommend things be done, when they are not necessary. I intend to do this kind of work in the spirit of service and with integrity.
